Can the police find the fraudster?

I filed a criminal complaint last week for fraud. The reason was a scam on eBay classifieds and PayPal. Ps4 picked up and money withdrawn.

Now, however, I have only given the name of the person, since I only have the name of PayPal. So no address, city etc. Let's assume that the name is real, think the man was sure that nothing is done and has given his real PayPal account.

Of course, I showed the police the chat history and gave the name. I do not know more than that.

Assuming that the name is real, can the police find the place of residence or the address? They told me that they would send an email to the fraudster and hypocritically ask for the personal details. So there's currently only one email connection and the first and last name. However, almost every name is double and triple.

How are the chances?

Even if it does, the police are only responsible for fraud. Your PS4 won't get them back.

Se

I know. I'm only concerned with punishment.

De

The chances are rather bad.

Apart from that, you wouldn't get your money automatically even if the person is convicted of fraud. You would have to initiate another trial before the civil court and make your claim there.

Se

Yeah, I just want that to get a punishment. The police didn't tell me anything about it. I only have the name

Google triangle fraud

The payment comes from another person

De

It will be difficult. You should have listened to the classified ads warning! Goods for cash!

Se

Don't they have tricks or something? Track the email?

De

I don't know and the police might not give away the tricks.

Se

OK thanks

De

With pleasure!

I suspect too

If it is a real real name, the police can also find it. However, there's certainly no large number of investigators in this case. It is not worth the effort.
