Assign PS4 controller to a game on the PC?

Can you assign a certain program / game to a controller connected (via USB) in Windows?

Background to the question: I want to run a game (Fortnite) in the background (because of voice chat with friends) while I'm actively playing another (Final Fantasy XV), but that doesn't work.

So for the sake of simplicity, you and your friends should perhaps rather use a simple chat program in the background: Skype, Discord, etc. So your PC has more power left than if it had to run a full game in the background.

Thanks for the quick answer, I had also suggested that, but since everyone is playing on a different platform (PC / PS4 / XBox / Switch) it is not possible for the others to run discord or the like on the side)

edit: we have already tried houseparty but even then we didn't get everyone together…) 😕

Ah okeee that is of course a bit more complicated. I don't know if you can reset the keyboard and mouse controls in Fortnite in the settings, so it would only react while the controller reacts to FFXV.

I actually found a possibility in the settings (mouse & keyboard settings in Fortnite) with which you can set that controller inputs are ignored by the game.

So I was able to play FF XV with the controller without accidentally buying anything in Fortnite.
