I bought Steep today because I saw it the other day on YouTube, but I'm not sure if you need PS Plus now or if it is enough to be logged into the Playstation network because you are online too. Can someone help me there?
I think Steep should be playable without PS Plus, but to play with friends you need PS Plus. But I'm not 100% sure.
Here is an explanation with examples for which games you need PS Plus:
PS Plus is required for multiplayer games where you play with or against others online. For example, Call of Duty multiplayer.
You do not need a PS Plus for single player games that you can play without the internet. For example, Ghost of Tsushima.
With free to play games, you don't need a PS Plus at all, even if you play online. Take the Battle Royale game Fortnite as an example.
For MPOs, i.e. Multiplayer only games, you definitely need PS Plus, as it can only be played online. Rainbow Six Siege, for example.
