Can you play Steep in pairs?

Hi, I recently bought Steep for the Ps4 and as far as I know there's an online multi-player, where you can play online with friends. But my question would now be whether you can play Steep in pairs when you are practically sitting next to each other, i.e. Playing on the same device, with 2 controllers? Does anyone know? If possible, do I have to adjust or take anything into account?

Unfortunately no, I've been playing Steep for 2 years, but it is not playable with 2 controllers.

Sorry, it says in the PS Store that it is supposedly possible to play with 4 players (controllers). I'll do some research and see if it works.
