I accidentally spilled a glass of water over my controller. This happened a long time ago. Now I've tried to load it, but it doesn't give any sign of life. When I plug it in, there's no light and my PC does not make a typical Windows noise. I was wondering if I might be able to fix it. I thought that I could replace the battery and the micro USB port. Would it then maybe work again or do I have to buy a new one?
Put it in rice
Unfortunately, it's been so long since it was dry anyway
Then throw it away and buy a new one?
But a new one costs. Hence the question of whether I can repair it for less
No, just buy a new one
Ok, i'll think about it
It doesn't have to be that the inside of the controller is completely "dried out".
I would unscrew it and check or dry it. 🤔If you tried to continue playing with the water in it, the electronics inside may have been damaged!
My mother (older semester) said at some point that she had to press the buttons on her TV remote control very hard, for example to change the program. When I disassembled the thing, the water droplets were already coming towards me. I then dried the part, cleaned the circuit board with isopropanol and the FB works like new again.
Thanks in advance for the answer. I'll unscrew the controller and see how it looks inside. And I didn't try to play with it because I wanted to let it dry.
Then you may have good cards to get back in.
