If I buy a monitor with 4K and 144hz and logically can only connect it to the Ps5 via hdmi. Do I really only have 60hz that the HDMI cable can transmit? And can the HDMI cable then only max. Transmit exactly 60 Hz or even a little more?
And wouldn't it be possible to use an adapter from HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort? Then I could get the 144hz right?
You need HDMI2.1 & the included cable of the PS5 does not support this amount of data. So you have to buy a new one. You can also play games that support the feature at a maximum of 120Hz.
An adapter won't do you any good. In addition, the monitor must also support Bwd via HDMI in terms of software. With many gaming monitors, the full range can only be used via DP.
But the included one is of course for HDMI 2.1
Why HDMI on the monitor? I go in there thanks to the adapter with DisplayPort.
Yeah right, I just checked. It was reported wrongly.
What should you need the adapter for? Just have a look in the user manual to see if you can reach this Bwd via HDMI instead of posting 10 questions a day.
Would be the 2nd possibility. Which I use is up to me. Since the first one didn't help much, I'll focus on the second one
