Twitch donations etc?

Short question: I'm currently streaming and have often been asked about DONATIONS, can I have the donations paid out via PAYPAL? And do I have to register a trade or the money then jumps under the cash allowance.

To me: 1,400 euro net, no further income.

I think that depends on the amount you get, whether that is a cash allowance and you can also have it paid out via PayPal if the donation portal does that

and what's your name on twitch?

I would assume that a regular expected income can be assumed here or that the tax office will also assume this with regard to the entire tax year.

The information is of course not sufficient to provide "advice" like a tax advisor does (of course, I don't do it here either).

My recommendation, first open a small business and see how it goes. Otherwise, if the income is constant or increasing, let a tax advisor inform you what the best way to achieve which income, especially if it is as unpredictable as it is the case with streamers.

Re

As a private person you are not allowed to accept donations.

Only corporations or non-profit associations can do that. You're probably not both. That would also be illegal & a donation is tied to a condition.

But what you can do is have money given to you. The word "donation" should be deleted completely, instead something like "tip" should be used.

And yes, with expected regular income (profit intention), a business is necessary. At the latest if you are a Twitch Affiliate.
