Renew Twitch Prime subscription on the same channel?

I have noticed that my Twitch Prime subscription has expired. Now I would like to subscribe to the channel again via Prime. However, the option is grayed out using Prime. Does that mean that I "only" have to buy a normal subscription (for 4.99 euro), or can I use Prime to subscribe to the same channel for months? If yes how?
