I wanted to ask if you can stream Nintendo Switch without Elgato with OBS

because I can't currently afford an Elgato and I want to stream on Twitch

You will not get HD then (but will be enough). You also have to hollow out a converter box because HDMI is digital and AV is analog, so the Chinese cables that do not have a converter will not work.
