I have a work colleague who regularly takes a health insurance certificate at weekends. That doesn't stop him from streaming live on Twitch, though.
So I'm sitting at work and can watch my "sick" work colleague playing games online. A camera is pointed at him too and he talks lively about his game. He doesn't seem really sick to me! He does that regularly…
What do you think about the topic?
It depends on the illness, you are not bedridden because of it.
but you can ask your boss about it
You can't judge whether your colleague is sick. As long as he gives a legitimate AU to the supervisor, it can't be your problem. In addition, he can do everything that does not counteract his "recovery".
Have you ever confronted him with it? It's amazing, but people like that think they're really smart and believe that nobody checks what they're doing…
It can of course also be the case that his sick leave has a background that is not obvious. You don't see psychological problems, you don't see any "internal", chronic illnesses either. Both can mean that he is actually unable to work. Both of these do not have to be a reason for exclusion from streaming at home. You can't just be sick in the "mushy" way of cold… Even with something like that, speaking out and explaining things can be very useful. The only important thing is that you are ready to really accept such a declaration!
As a colleague, however, the consequences of labor law are not your responsibility. And telling the boss about it is, in my opinion, just shabby. So you shouldn't do that. Clarify the situation so that you feel less exploited by him - through an open word among colleagues, but no more!
Sometimes bosses should also be informed about such suspicious factors (colleague turns blue) … Then the client can in future request a medical certificate from the first day of illness.
Then tell me about a disease that is not allowed to gamble. What do you do if you have a cold?
If the boss suspects that the doctor is writing sick without a diagnosis, you can report the doctor to the health insurance company. It's up to you if you want to pass that on.
Normally, an AG that has too many sick days gets disadvantages in the long term. Salary increase, promotion etc. Puff cake!
