Twitch username available or not?

I would like to rename myself on Twitch from JetztMitteLIVE to JetztM1tte.

However, it says "The username JetztM1tte is not available. I thought someone else was already using the name, but when I enter twitch.tv/ JetztM1tte nothing was found.

So why can't I rename myself if the username is "free"?
