I wanted to find out which microphones you can recommend. I'm currently using the Samsong G-Track which offers good audio quality but is not a directional microphone and picks up pretty much all background noise.
Price is not that important, but price / performance should also be right.
Does your current microphone need phantom power and do you have a mixer?
I don't know phantom power and I don't have a mixer.
Here is the link to https://www.amazon.de/...B0015MJE22
Is it connected via usb?
If so, there may be software from Samsong.
I have n 40 euro which phantom power needs and get that from a 50 euro mixer. With the mixer I can set whether I want ambient noise or only get loud and direct noises. I can send you a sample video of me.
Well, it's just not a directional microphone, so the noises are picked up from all directions (e.g. The neighbour's lawnmower.) Noises such as the humming of fans cause fewer problems thanks to noise suppression.
But yes it is connected via USB.
Your G-Track is a large diaphragm and made to record small noises. First make a try: Really from the FRONT! Close to the micro. Maximum 20 cm (yes, I know, you need a pop filter then) Turn down the sensitivity of the microphone! To do this, increase the volume. If that works, mount the part on a tripod or an articulated arm. If possible with a spider.
Now tell me what you want to do with the microphone, then I'll recommend something to you if it doesn't work.
Thanks for the answer,
it is already on a tripod with a spider and I have often misused the settings. Unfortunately, I always have the key sounds and ambient noises with me.
Admittedly, I haven't tested the 20cm yet, but I'll personally find it annoying if the microphone is always dangling in front of my nose.
I want to use the microphone for live streams on Twitch and YouTube videos. Of course, normal voice chats such as Discord or Teamspeak should also benefit from this. Only my voice should be heard and no background noises such as the keyboard or the neighbour's lawnmower (if possible).
Unfortunately, I have little idea about microphones in general, but I asked a little about the types of microphones and I think that directional microphones would serve its purpose relatively well, right?
PS: The G-Track was bought second-hand without much prior knowledge. At that time it worked well because I had an electric keyboard that hardly made any noise. However, I have had a mechanical keyboard for some time now, which unfortunately means that the whole thing no longer works as I imagine it to be.
The further you put a microphone away from you, the more sensitive you have to put it Logo because only part of the air flow arrives. You also have to discuss dynamic mics up close. Then only a good headset will help you. Starting at 300 euro. Is it worth it? Directional microphones are hardly suitable for your purpose
But how do others do it then? I keep seeing streamers or Youtubers who have no background noise, but there's never a microphone. They have to do it somehow.
Why do professionals like "Gronkh" sit with their noses in front of the microphone? And he's a sound engineer!
Link an invisible microphone to me
Ahh no you are right it is only very cleverly hidden ^^
