Can I watch older streams anonymously without a Twitch account?

I wanted to watch an older stream from a friend on Twitch, but I don't want him to know that I saw it.

No. As far as I know you have to have a twitch account but if you are not in Europe with a Vpn to watch twitch, an account is not required.
