I've been streaming on Twitch for a long time and never had any real problems with music, but recently I've had a new overlay, since the music doesn't work properly, it also cuts out in OBS but it doesn't come in the stream, there are any Tips you have, what could be the cause or should I just reinstall OBS?
At first it sounds like something is wrong in the audio mixer with the extended audio properties.
What are you playing the music over?
e.g. Spotify or a playlist directly in OBS?
If this music should be output in the audio mixer via "Desktop Sound", and everything else works in the desktop sound, it might be exciting. 😄
In the desktop sound, all PC sounds including music are felt, which makes it quite strange, if only this does not work.
If the music has its own controller in the audio mixer, go to the advanced audio settings and set it to "monitor and output" or something like that.
If these tips do not solve the problem, more information would be helpful.
Wanted to ask if you have Discord or something? Maybe then you can help me better and explain better what the error could be.
Usually difficult to do for various reasons. Long story.
What do you use to play this music that can't be heard in the stream?
Are there any other sounds not working, or ONLY the music?
I play my songs on Spotify, and you don't hear the in-game sound either
Then go to the OBS settings in "Audio" and select the headset that you are using under "Desktop Audio".
If that doesn't help, select "Standard" instead.
Does it work then?
I use Voicemeeter Banana to not show the music in the Vod do you understand what I mean?
Yes, so about, but I have no experience with that.
If it is related to the fact that you do not hear any music in the stream yourself, unfortunately I can't help you.
No, it's not because it always worked before it has worked since I got my new overlay
Funny that an overlay makes mistakes on that basis.
If you deactivate that, will you be able to do it again?
Which overlay is it?
One of stream elements
Yes, there are some things that are pretty special in your case, so it's hard for me to say.
If the overlay can really be related to it, try to update it at the beginning of the stream. It is best to do this with all browser sources.
So click on the source, then click on "update" etc. Then they work more reliably.
Otherwise I would just check all the audio settings in the OBS and Voicemeter and if similar programs are used, whether everything is still correct. It may be that something is no longer set or has been changed, e.g. If the headset was disconnected from the PC in between.
Unfortunately, I can't help you any more.
But of course you can put the question in the three points at the top right. Maybe someone else knows more about all of this.
Thank you.
