Lan splitter faster download?

I currently have an XBOX with Wi-Fi, the downloads take quite a long time, so I want to buy a Lan Splitter to speed it up, and my question is, are the downloads faster then?

With a LAN cable it is definitely more stable and also definitely faster

But you don't necessarily need a switch (that's what the LAN "splitters" are called)
Sufficient if you put a LAN cable from xbox to the router
