How do you handle an xbox controller?

Must change for some reason for a while on xbox controller layout and am extremely confused… Uses the pad above eechts with the index finger or how is that thought?

I do not quite understand which pad you mean in the top right, but if you mean the link, I use my thumb. I use my index fingers for the back 4 keys, for all front the two thumbs.

The rest of the fingers are just to hold the controller in your hand.

This is my way of holding the controller, but you decide how you feel best and what is most comfortable.
