Media Markt and Saturn (just now the two as an example) also sell these credit cards for the respective stores (PSN store and similar at XBox) to match the Playstation and XBox consoles. How do Saturn and Media Markt benefit from the sale of these cards? Are they making a profit? Because the buyer most likely wants to buy the game in store instead of on-site in the store.
Can someone explain to me how this works?
First of all: I don't know 100%
But the price of the game (e.g. 59.99) does not stay 100% in the store, but at the respective game manufacturer. Or Mediamarkt and Saturn have to buy the games themselves for a certain price.
It is similar in my opinion with the prepaid cards that not everything stays with the respective market, but only a certain part.
So it would be irrelevant for the market whether the customer buys the game directly or "only" a credit card.
