Using game keys from Xbox one on Xbox Series X?

I have now bought the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate with it. But I would like to know if I buy a game like GTA V as a game key for the Xbox One, whether I can then also play it on my Xbox Series X? The Xbox is backwards compatible and that's why it only makes sense that I can redeem a key from the last generation on my next gen, right?

And to the Playstation 5 fanboys, no, the Ps5 is no better than the Xbox Series X, thanks to the more powerful software of the Xbox! I also wanted to get a Ps5 when the Ps5 slim and such come out, for the exclusive titles.
