Player names encrypted in Call of Duty MW?

Played Modern Warfare online on Xbox yesterday and I noticed that the names of the other players look very much like bot names.

For example Jack # 356 or Ron # 298.

One could partly not open the player cards, with the players where possible the player information, gamertag with information was shown normally.

I could also hear the players talking, so they weren't bots.

Have the latest update and only gamble on Xbox.

Is that a bug or something similar or did you ever notice something like that?

Isn't Warzone crossplay? Could be players from other platforms.

Difficult to say, I don't play CoD. But that's probably normal. To enable crossplay, all players are smuggled into a higher-level network. Otherwise it wouldn't work. PSN, Xbox Live and Battlenet have no real connection points. All of this must be regulated via "put on" interfaces.

It's the same in other cross-play titles.
