My friend I bought an Ark server from us (nitrado).
Our problem is now that I got Ark via the Xbox Game Pass (but stop on the PC) but my friend got Ark via the Epic Games Launcher because it was free because we can't do it together because I can Can't find his Ark server because someone can help me, it would be a shame if we had bought the server for otherwise.
PS: If it shouldn't work someone could explain something to me about an Xbox Ark server because then my friend would get the Xbox Game Pass Ark and then we could play together like that, right?

Steam & Epic can do crossplay together and the XBOX ARK is also the WIn10 ARK, so to speak, but I don't know whether XBOX and Epic can also do crossplay, but I don't think so. You could buy it on the PC in Steam (very often very much reduced) and play with him in this way.
And if he gets the game on Xbox you should be able to play together, you can also try whether you can convert the Nitrado server to an Xbox ark server if that works, unfortunately I'm not very much into the Xbox ark matter
