Reconfigure laptop to wireless router?

Unzwar I live in the student home and my laptop gets Wi-Fi (Lan cable) but my xbox, for example. Not (even lan cable) and I wanted to ask if I can't configure my laptop to produce a Wi-Fi signal?

So your laptop is connected via LAN and not WLAN (LAN = wired and WLAN = wireless). You could try to activate a hotspot (would be WLAN).

But for your PS I would choose a different version:

Buy a small 4-port switch, then there's the LAN cable coming from the router / switch and then you have 3 free slots for 3 more cables, which are then connected to 3 other laptops / PCs or Xbox.

The idea is not bad, but it will not work that way.

Actually, there can only be the problem that the XBox will not be assigned an IP over the DNS of the router. I do not know if you have a limit in the dorm.

If your laptop z.b via LAN Internet has you can pass this on the wireless.
