I'm about to buy an XBOX One X.
Now I ask myself: The controller supplied runs on batteries!
If I order one online, does it run on battery? I would like to leave out all the battery stuff, what options do I have?

I use this charging station. There are two rechargeable batteries that you put in the controller instead of the batteries. After playing, they just come into the charging station and you're done: -D
So I have a part for the Xbox One S just have to look around for the Xbox One X. I'm very happy with it!

The controllers are always without a battery.
You can operate them via USB cable, with batteries, your own rechargeable batteries or a battery pack that is available from various manufacturers.
From my own experience, I would recommend the original Play and Charge Kit from Microsoft. Its battery lasts quite a long time, longer than the integrated one of my PS controller. It is also durable and you can charge it with the included cable during use.
