First try whether the HDMI cable works on other devices. If not, just use another one or buy a new one. If it works, connect another device to the monitor, it should work too, if possible connect the Xbox to another monitor.
If the Xbox generally no longer outputs a picture, there are enough points of contact to have an HDMI connection repaired, unless a simple solution can be found on the Internet, which shouldn't be too expensive either
