Is crossplay (cross-platform) play possible in Apex Legends?

My friend (xbox) and I (pc) want to play Apex Legends together. Is this possible?

Unfortunately, this is currently not possible.

But I read iwo that Respawn has no concrete plans yet but would generally not be unwilling to implement this function in Apex.
