Microsoft Games Steam Play Anywhere?

There are now on Steam Microsoft Games on offer.

Does anyone know if you buy these games like Gears 5 on Steam, the same way as in the Microsoft Store, so it can play on the Xbox?

At Steam, it is currently cheaper for me, so the question.

To play them on the Xbox, games must be purchased in the Microsoft Store. The Xbox does not know Steam.
