After yesterday announced the Xbox Scarlett on the Xbox PK for 2020 and the PS5 will certainly appear somewhere in this period, I wonder, with what resolution / refresh rate can be expected. You know now that probably in both consoles customized Navi GPUs and Zen2 processors will work.
Now the question is, for which resolution / refresh rate that is sufficient. Since this depends on which game you are watching, here I limit myself to graphically challenging AAA titles (e.g., AC Odyssey, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn…). Since, as far as I'm informed, even top graphics cards like the 1080ti do not easily manage 4k 60fps in such games, I would guess that we would have to reach at least 4k 30fps for such games in the next generation of consoles by default.
Since I do not know much about this, like some others here, I would like to know what you think about it.
With Top most probably the 2080Ti.
This packs for example Rise of the Tomb Raider on high with around 70-80FPS.
I do not think that these consoles on high settings create approximately 4K @ 120FPS.
The usual marketing blab…
They can bend 120 FPS anyway
Wait, especially since such high frame numbers are unnecessary.
Also lags the comparison because already the graphics card alone costs over a thousand euro. Such prices do not even pay close attention to console players.
Please keep in mind that the consoles are designed for gambling, 4k 60fps is reached by some games on the one x and still look good, and seriously, if the new consoles manage that, then it will only benefit us pc players too much, such a graphical standstill as at ps3 times I really can't use again
