Ebay Classifieds Scam under Paypal?

Yesterday I bought an Xbox cheaply on ebay classifieds and paid it via Paypl. Today the seller writes to me that the Xbox has disappeared in the locker at work and that he will send the money back to me via immediate transfer as soon as I send it my Iban.

For me this is a bit suspicious, especially since there are always fraudsters on ebay. What do you think?

How did you pay

PayPal goods & services?

So if I'm being completely honest, I would have it transferred back via PayPal and not with your IBAN. It could really be a fraud, but I prefer not to interfere, I can only give you the tips that I have already given many.

if you want to do this via IBAN, the money should reach you about 3-5 working days, if not then report it to eBay, and to the police.

Which buyer has his Xbox in the nuts, that would also sound suspicious to me.

This is suspicious and there's a risk that he will want to use the IBAN to pay something by direct debit. Therefore, only provide the IBAN of a call money account or savings book. It doesn't work there. Do not take the IBAN of the current account (i.e. The normal account). You can post that back, but then you always have to check the account statements. In my opinion, there's no reasonable reason not to repay the money via PayPal - if he actually wanted to repay it.

Incidentally, Sofortüberweisung is a service that you use to pay at retailers. You don't normally use it to make transfers to private individuals.

When paying via PayPal goods & services, you should log into your PayPal account after the expected delivery time has expired and open a buyer protection case there, which can be done up to 180 days after purchase: http://www.paypal.com/...laint-view

And you should be of legal age, even when the account is opened, otherwise the shot will backfire.

Then rule it better via a buyer protection case with PayPal.

Decline.
He should pay you back via Paypal. There's an extra n button for this in the transaction overview, in addition, he does not have to pay the fees if it is reversed. Funny for that alone.
