Why is the sound from the Xbox via HDMI and optically delayed?

I do not get it. Have my XBox via HDMI s.TV, and connected with optical cable to my 5.1 system. When I play the system, the TV is muted. Sometimes I forget to do that right away. Then it sounds like the sound from the TV and the system is time-delayed, although the same picture can be seen. This confuses me a bit 😅 Why is that?

So

Since the optical signal is transmitted much faster than HDMI, so you feel a little delay.

No

Please check the picture settings.
Alleged functions to improve the image are computationally intensive and therefore cost time. Many TV's have a "game mode" where such enhancements are disabled.
The image must first be recalculated time consuming while the sound can be decoded in almost echzteit.

The cable is not the problem. Electricity and light are not noticeably different. 106m / s at power you will hardly notice unless you have a kilometer long cable.

I know that from a musician. Of course it's all about sound.

He has a great program. PC to stereo system. Guitar on the PC.

The PC is too slow. Therefore 0.2 seconds delay. Of course, that sucks.

That's how I imagine it in a Playstation. The facility is guaranteed not to blame. The Playstation rather too slow for that.
