New TV only shows snow?

I bought a new TV and when I tried to connect my Xbox (hdmi) cable as usual, my TV only showed snow. I could easily see that the picture of the Xbox behind the 'snow' was as usual, but you can't see anything through that snow. The HDMI cable worked fine on my old TV. At the moment I don't have Wi-Fi, but I know that you don't need it for that. What else can you do there?

Are your brightness settings set too high?

Would just look around in the settings and if you can't find anything just reset the TV.

The brightness setting is quite normal. I will try the reset.

Is it actually normal that my HDMI cable on my Xbox is quite loose? When I held the cable a little tighter, my TV still only showed snow.

It should actually be quite tight in the port.
