Do you have sound when you plug an Hdmi 2.1 cable into an Hdmi 2.0 port?

So at the end of the year the Xbox Series X comes out and it has an Hdmi 2.1 connection and I have a 4K monitor with Hdmi 2.0 and I wonder if I then have sound or have to connect a headset
