I would like to buy the astro a 50 for the xbox. Now I'm wondering how it works with charging, because I have read a lot when the console is off and the charging station has no more power, so the headset has to be charged externally. Which I don't think is great for the price. Is that really the case or do I have to keep the console running in standby mode? General experience recommendations are also gladly accepted.
I just tested it live, the station is still on.
PS: have an Xbox Series X. I don't think there are any deviations from the Xbox one version.
You can download the "Astro Command Center" app to update your headset + station and with the free Dolby access membership, which is automatically activated when your headset is recognized, you can get extra sound quality. The app is called "Dolby Access"
The first charging of the headset is still very stressful. But once it is fully charged you can simply put it back on the station whenever you stop.
Okay, that means you turned off your xbox, but the headset was still charged?
The station is still on, so yes. You can also charge the headset by cable. It will probably also be possible to use a mobile phone charging cable. But no USB C
What comes to mind as a disadvantage of the headset. The mic is not that good. And if you want leather ear pads you have to buy them for 40 euro. When they're back in stock.
Perfect, thank you 😊 my series x is coming the day after tomorrow 👍 experiences with my ear pads?
The ear cushions are comfortable, it's not like that. But you hear everything around you and the sound just escapes to the outside.
