I have two of the XBox one.

They are not special and just run via USB.

Do you want cordless you still need that

Xbox wireless adapter

Unfortunately, it did not last long with me.

It works with an IR adapter and an XBOX 360 controller, but it's complicated to get it up and running

No:-) since the XBOX and Windows are both from Microsoft, the normal XBOX controller is compatible with Windows ;-)

I have a few said I need an adapter or usb cable is synonymous with no adapter so just about Bluetooth?
