Sleeping in one room with the whole family is bad?

In the apartment is a very large room where all beds and cupboards are set up. Everyone has their own closet. There's another room there. I play with my Xbox and Ps4. A bed doesn't fit in. It is also a skylight. The landlord doesn't want to install sliding blinds, which is why you can't sleep there anyway. There's only a very small sofa that you can't sleep on. I sit on it while playing. Is it bad if I (16) sleep in the same room with the whole family? The apartment is very nice. I love my family too. I'm slowly feeling sad when I see how all my friends have parents with their own property and have a large room even if it is for rent. The rents are very high and you can't get anything better for the price. The apartment is very nice and modern. Our landlord is a friend. That's why we get the rent 200-300 euro cheaper. So basically 1300 euro >> 1000 euro. Is it normal? Does anyone have such experiences with one bedroom for everyone? All my friends have their own large room and can still be on the phone at night. But not me

I find it extremely unusual for the whole family to sleep in one room. Nobody has privacy there.

I don't know what's wrong with it. As long as you all like each other, there isn't much arguing and you can gamble. Everything is fine. Not everyone can own their own property and have a lot of money

It's not as unusual as you think, I've seen this in a few families, but mostly with smaller children.

That everyone has their own room is more of a modern invention in Germany. In other countries it is still normal today that everyone sleeps in the same bedroom. In Germany this only changed significantly after World War II.

Just get on with it, because apparently there's no alternative with you.
