Which part of the Halo range to start with?

I would like to play a game in the Halo series. Which part would be the most suitable to get into the game series. I don't have any of the Xbox consoles. Therefore, please only specify the games that are also available on PC

On Steam you can buy the "Master Chief Collection" (you can even buy it at a reduced price). So far, all parts up to Halo 4 are available. It even exists in the chronological order.

Stupid question: The individual parts are given as additional content on Steam. If I buy the Master Chief Collection, can I play all the parts or do I have to buy certain parts additionally?

If you buy the Master Chief Collection, you get the following games (chronologically structured)

Halo Reach
Halo
Halo 2
Halo 3
Halo 3 ODST
Halo 4

If you load the collection now, you can currently only play from Halo Reach to Halo 2 (both campaign and online). Over time, the other parts will be submitted later and must be downloaded separately. You will be notified as soon as there's always a new part (I think Halo 3 will be released on July 3, 2020, but I'm not quite sure).

Most will say chronologically along the halo time line.

As a Halofan, I prefer to say chronologically according to the release of the games.

On the one hand, the developers at Bungie thought something about why they would end the halo row with Reach or only bring odst what is between 2 and 3 afterwards. Would you play this along the halo timeline, although Reach is actually a prologue, you will miss a lot of what you already know by playing the actual Master Chief trilogy.

On the other hand, the games have also developed technically and in terms of gameplay. According to Reach, part one and two would be more of a disappointment.
