Xbox one x or series x?

I would really like to buy an Xbox one x because it is in my budget and I want an update to Xbox one which I have had for a while. Actually nothing speaks against my decision but I don't quite understand what it has to do with the no longer supported topic.

Is it that when the Series x comes I can no longer use the Xbox one x? Or where is the disadvantage.

Because I don't want to buy the Series x directly from release, if at all. If so, then 2021 or so.

Unfortunately I can't find the answer I'm looking for on the Internet. So where is the disadvantage if I buy an Xbox one x now and the Series x maybe just 2021 or so.

I'd be happy for help

So I think it depends a bit on the price that Microsoft has not yet revealed for the Series X.

In theory, you have no real downside when you buy the Xbox One X except, of course, that you probably won't be able to play the games of the upcoming console generation.

The reason why people say "wait" is that the upcoming Series X console will be fully backward compatible and will therefore be able to play Xbox One (+360, and Original Xbox) games.

So you would have paid more money for a more powerful future-proof console if you didn't buy the Xbox One X, but instead the Series X.

BUT

If you are not interested in the new games anyway and you only want to play Xbox One games, then the One X is the right choice for you.

In the end you have both consoles at home.

Thank you very much that helped me!
