Is this really for the players?

We all know the typical saying from the Japanese game console manufacturer Sony,

"For the Players"

this saying, which we can actually see and hear in every Sony Ps4 advertisement, is probably known to everyone.

But what's behind it?

And are the Sony consoles really as this slogan promises?

- a comparison to the competitor Microsoft.

This saying promises that this console and or game is "for the players".

But what I was wondering.

Is it really like that? Because what about physically restricted people who can't use a controller because they can't move their hands and or other parts of the body.

After hours of research, it became clear to me that it looks quite bleak for physically challenged people what gaming on Ps4 means.

However, a product caught my eye that made it possible for those people who wanted to gamble but could not.

The Xbox Adaptive Controller is

This promises restricted people to immerse themselves in the gaming world and to be able to experience it like others.

It was immediately clear to me.

"For The Players" is not for all players… But how do you feel about it?

Do you find that unnecessary? Do you think Sony's "For The Players" is justified?

an

Soni is a good brand. Ivh dence that it motivates.

I don't know if you really mean the question. Through all the inserts and "fancy" fonts you lose credibility.

The motto is from a time when you didn't have to please everyone and didn't have to pay attention to every single word so that you didn't step into an SJW mine. Of course, physically disadvantaged people are unable to gamble if they can't operate the consoles or the like. Would you now want to claim that the motto; "For the players (except the ones who can't play because of their special conditions)" would be better / more appropriate?

In this context, "players" means Sony's customers and not everybody.

Ke

I mean explicitly Sony and her slogan "For The Players".

However, some people are restricted.

But yes.

What I just found out is that they even changed this motto this month.

Fr

For the players means exactly what is in my last sentence. It's not about everyone who wants to play games; It's about the people who buy and consume Sony products.

Fr

But if the spell has now triggered such a mine, then you can be happy and calmly sit on your couch and use your console without feeling guilty.

Likewise:-)

In my view, Sony has long since deserved this slogan. On the one hand, what you have already mentioned, and the second, which is almost past, but the shame has already been done is the unnecessary refusal to crossplay. This is definitely not "For the Players". The players had wished to gamble with Xbox, Nintendo, PC and mobile players, and Sony simply wasn't listening, but rather lobbying and marketing gossip, leaving many players disappointed. That was when Microsoft started to become more and more attractive. - With my current statement some Sony fanboys will probably not like it, but I have heard enough of it, read and seen that Sony has pretty much messed it up over the past year and a half. Was also one of the reasons why I didn't buy a PS4. I met more than 10 people last year who switched to Xbox (or Nintendo Switch) because of the anti-customer number Sony pulled off in late 2018. You can stay with me on PS4, I don't want to make anyone change their minds, if they want to play DAS for what they want. But you also have to consider how much you can trust the company. I chose Microsoft's Xbox One in mid-October 2018, Blind, and was not disappointed. Sony couldn't convince me either before or after. And his "for the players" fuss no longer attracts me and other people who have realized that Sony doesn't care about his community.

But it's just my statement, I don't expect anyone to agree with me in the slightest.

👍 Thank you for this detailed opinion

According to the latest leak, this will soon no longer matter.

And the problem is that the demand is just too low. Therefore, Sony is unlikely to develop new technology to enable people with limited access to play on the PS5. Let alone I can't imagine how the whole thing should happen 🤔 I would be interested in your idea.

The Sony changes its slogan on "It's time to play". Most recently, Sony used the motto "For the Players" and "Best Place to Play". Now, however, there are growing indications that "It's time to play" could become the official slogan of the PS5. Because the saying that recently appeared in a commercial for the https://winfuture.mobi/special/playstation-4/ (where game characters meet gamers in the real world) has now spread.

"It's time to play" seems to replace the long-term saying For The Players, so users noticed (via https://www.vg247.com/2020/01/20/playstation-slogan-ps5-reveal/) that the slogan can now be seen prominently on the Twitter account https://twitter.com/...yStationEU. Yes, dear doubters, that can be completely irrelevant, but it is not out of the question that the slogan will accompany us for the next few years. In short: one can be (further) excited.
