I've been thinking for some time, I buy an Xbox One X and I'm not so sure after the statements of Cerny to PS5, if this makes sense. Actually, I wanted to buy a WQHD monitor from AOC, but the 4K / 8K of the PS5 logically "not supported" and possibly not usable. WQHD would be fine for me, but if I decided to buy a PS5 instead of an Xbox One X, I would not be willing to buy a very expensive 4K / 8K monitor…
WHAT DO YOU MEAN: ONE X with WQHD / PS5 with 4K?
Please no fan statements but neutral!
It depends on what you value now and what you really want. Or for a budget. Because you get 4k but also from 300 euro.
In any case, the current generation with Xbox X and PS Pro are quite smart (even without 4k useful) and also have a large game selection, so may be enough.
** Why eig explicitly Xbox One X vs PS5? Why not the Pro or the new Xbox?
To me, the PS4 is honestly already too old and not enough powerful, I also want to have a large monitor so that I can still see well from say 1.5m distance
Apparently you are only on budget (?).
The Xbox costs ~ 400 euro. The new PS will not cost much more.
4k screens are also +300 euro.
If in doubt, save a little more.
or you go to the exclusive features and games that the consoles offer.
The XBox One X is now also very cheap - recently seen at Saturn for about 360 euro. I'll take that as a yardstick. Basically, the X is a great console, but it still has the outdated Jaguar processor, even though it overclocked it. The X is currently the best console and also recommended (for the price). How far the 1440p support goes, I do not know. Could be that as well as only upscaled by 1080p or downscalted by 4K.
From the next generation, but you can expect much (more), that should be a real jump, hopefully in the frame rate by the strong Ryzen processor.
If you have the 360 euro (which is not much for the performance) and it's worth your while that the hardware is outdated after 1.5 years (or 0.5 or 2.5), you can strike.
Personally (like most console players) I prefer TVs. The picture quality is better, and (decent) 4K monitors are already very expensive compared to televisions. Question is also here, if at the moment you should invest a lot, where HDMI 2.1 is barely represented.
Which games do you want to play?
Both have different exclusives (Playstation has a bit more)
Of course, the performance plays a big role but a console without games would be useless…
Although Xbox currently has the most powerful console in the world, you can still play games smoothly on the playstation.
Ps: Why are you comparing playstation 5 with xbox one x and not with playstation pro or playstation 5 with xbox scarlett?
The Scarlet is still too far away and the PS4 (Pro) is not comparable to the One X.
Technically it will be more in the direction of Forza / The Crew with me… Maybe you have so experience?
Did not play the Crew but many parts of forza. Forza horizon is really great (as a gameplay and as a graphic). All the details are crazy, but I like the action more (gears of war, halo…)
If you want to play racing games, the xbox is right for you (there are no top racing games on ps4)
Even as a controller, you can better press the buttons (have often played with ps controller with friends and the rear buttons Rt and Lt feel better at the xbox than ps) …
The thing with the 4k screen can be plugged in, get a neat wqhd screen and play on it
neither the xbox one x nor the PS 4 pro yet (most likely not) the PS5 will make 4k liquid and I mean 4k not any sampling gadgets
otherwise my PC can be 16k, though only pokemon and sampled to death but 16k
Can the consoles do it? Not necessarily 60fps at most, but the X generally packs already.
Keep dreaming at 1440p, maximum 1800p scale us to 4k
and ne console 4k 60? In Tetris maybe
Where did you get that from? Degrees the Exclusives (and some X enhanced) are natively 3840 × 2160.
At the 60fps, I agreed with you. The are usually more at 1080 at the "Performance" settings.
