Hello guys I have had my XBOX 360 for a long time and everything worked normally and when I wanted to play a little call of dut MW3 today the xbox started to lie and then had a still picture. When I then turned the XBOX off and turned it back on, I had the RED dot of death, my power supply in turn had the usual green light, now I don't know what to do and the xbox makes strange noises from the fan (It sounds like the fan accelerates a bit and then slows down again). It would be very nice if someone can help me. I've already opened them to clean them

This happens when the Xbox is not cooled sufficiently. Open it, remove and clean the fan, generally remove dust from it, put new thermal paste on it and close it again.

Ro

Apparently I didn't mention it at all, but I've already cleaned it up

Ma

Is this your crochet doily?

Ma

And which rings actually shine there or how many?

Ro

As I put it in the question, this is only a point and not the red ring of death as with the old XBOX 360

Ro

Yes

Ze

You have already cleaned the fan and applied new thermal paste.

Ma

How is the question?

There you constantly tell something about Ring of Death that you don't have at all. Especially what does that have to do with the age or slim version of the 360? Both can break.

If you turn it on now will you get a picture?

And do the rings shine in addition to the power button?

And last but not least, please take neat pictures. From the front, with sufficient lighting and without flash. Then you may even see something.

Ma

I think the thermal paste is unnecessary. When the old one is not completely crumbled away.

It would also be a problem with overheating, only two rings would glow red there.

As I recognize it, the actual power button lights up.

Ro

I do not like to repeat it but there's still RED DOT OF DEATH and not red ring of death there's always no difference

Ro

What I meant by that is the old xbox 360 that came out around 2005-2009 and my xbox 360 slim that came out in 2010-2013

Ze

A slim can be 10 years old. At some point the best thermal paste will be through. WLP in the PC should be renewed at least every 3 years. Just think that an Xbox that has a much poorer cooling and a narrow housing also needs new paste.

In addition, the Slim does not have a ring like the OG Xbox 360 when overheating, but only a red dot, as can be seen in the picture.

Ma

OK, I just skipped it. A big apology for that.

Where is there an RDOD?

And what are the answers to my questions?

Ro

Yes, apparently there's RDOD, and I do not get a picture for your questions and there's no light around the Powerbutten and I can take a detailed picture tomorrow

Ma

I actually didn't know about the slim.

But she also has the rings! So your statement surprises me a little.

Ma

Thanks for the clarification.

However, the questioner should have seen the system message.

In addition, the ROD is used in this article as a comparison, but it is a serious hardware error. And no overheating.

Ro

Second photo is now in there

Ro

I got the xbox up and running by packing it in the oven for 5 minutes at 150 ° C

Ma

Are you serious?

Very questionable and certainly not entirely harmless.

But I'm glad that she is going again.

How did you come up with something like that? Sounds like some solder joints are no longer in contact and they are going through the heat again.

Ro

I had previously worked with defective graphics cards and it always worked and then I thought why I'm not trying
