Xbox live 12 months?

There has been no Xbox live 12 month subscription in the Microsoft Store since July. However, if I buy and redeem a card for 12 months Xbox Live, does that count for 12 months or will the card even be accepted?

If you can still buy cards for 12 months, they will of course still work.

Only Microsoft itself doesn't offer a full year anymore.
