Good birthday present for friend?

So my boyfriend's birthday is on December 3rd and I've thought about what to buy for him for a long time. I finally have an idea, but I'm not sure if he'll like it. He really likes to play Xbox and I bought him a 50 euro voucher and let us develop two pictures and write another card with text. Is that a good idea or too impersonal?
