Software Xbox Elite Controller Accessories: Win 10 not up to date?

I had ordered a new Xbox Elite wireless controller from Microsoft in January at Amazon and was horrified to find that the software "accessories" from the Microsoft Store claims that my Windows is not up to date. This is definitely wrong. My windows release has the number 1809, installed on 10.01.2019. Microsoft support is ignorant and stubbornly claims I should do an update. If someone here can confirm to me that "accessories" are running on him, I order the controller again. I really want it.
