How should I deal with the Nintendo Switch battery?

Yesterday I bought a Nintendo switch, but I would like to use it primarily as a console on the TV. How do I handle the best with the battery? Is it very harmful if I have always connected to the power or is it better always to let the battery discharge and then recharge, etc?

So I always do that I have the console off next to the dock when I'm not using it, so it does not permanently hang over 100% out on the power. I think so it is most gentle for the battery, which in 2019 probably no longer plays a major role anyway.
