Flashcards for the Nintendo?

I recently got a New Nintendo 2DS Xl. Since the 3DS games are almost as expensive as the device itself and I want to play 3DS games (e.g. Pokemon Ultramond), I considered (as before) getting a flashcard for the Nintendo. I have already found some, such as The Sky3ds +, R4i 9bs, R4i Gold 3ds Rts Plus or the Stargate 3ds. My hardware as mentioned above is a New Nintendo 2DS XL with the current version: 11.13.0-45E. As far as I know, the above cards are compatible. My first question: are the cards actually compatible?

If so, my second question: are they good or are there better ones to recommend?

If they are good, my third question: where can I buy these cards?

^ Because I have seen many different shops where I'm not so sure whether they are reputable (e.g. R4 cards, dgchips etc.) Would you recommend a reputable store? I'm unsure because: These are abroad e.g. In the USA and shipping costs of 10-30 + euro are required from me.

My fourth question: Can I play Roms without a Flashcard?

If the shops are not all serious, the fourth question would be my last solution. Otherwise, if this is not possible without a flashcard, would it be possible to use my old M3i Zero and load the latest updates accordingly?

I had an "R4 Gold New 3DS 2018 update" for my 3DS with the same version, that is one that you also listed. You have to watch out for the update because the 2018 is now blocked. So I would recommend a 2019 or 2020. You can usually not use the new firmware with an old memory card because they are somehow incompatible. I tried it with my old R4i and also the R43DS when one wasn't locked. The R43DS worked, the other didn't.

But I only have R4, it may be different with the other cards.

Unfortunately I can't tell you whether the shops are serious, I bought mine at the flea market, but that's not possible now.

I'll tell you one thing: Since you want to do piracy anyway, it is really unnecessary to spend money on flash cards. The 3DS family can be equipped with a custom firmware and with this you can install Roms on your system and are not forced to the card.

@SALEGAMERMC I have another question: if I have installed this custom firmware, can I also play 3DS games (e.g. Pokemon Moon)? If so, how can I do this?

Sure you can, either by cartridge, or if you have the game in an installable format (.cia) you can install the game on the SD card with FBI
