Paypal payment in the eShop does not work

Hello everyone.

My concern is this: I just wanted to buy a game via the Nintendo eShop on the Nintendo Switch, as well as sign up for a Nintendo Switch Online membership. My Paypal is already connected to my Nintendo Account. However, it always shows me the following message (I have attached a picture of it). When I try to shop in the browser, I get the same error message. For information: yes, I'm of legal age and can therefore use PayPal. I connected my PayPal account to my Sparkasse bank account and selected this as my preferred payment method. There's more than enough money in my bank account and there are no more open payments with PayPal, or PayPal has already debited everything from my account.

Has anyone ever had the same problem and / or does someone have a solution ready?

In any case, thank you in advance.

The solution is clear to read

contact customer service - write down the error messages

That sounds like Paypal's security measure, which has been coming up more and more recently, especially for new customers and customers with unclear creditworthiness. It is asked about almost every day here in the forum.

If that is the case, PayPal will ask you to enter your credit card in addition to your bank account. This is a security measure…

to secure the payment (PayPal can't see if there's enough money in your bank account)
to filter out minors who cheated an illegal PayPal account with a fake date of birth.

If you are of legal age, have entered your correct date of birth and everything is legal on your PayPal account, then you can thank the many underage cheaters for whom PayPal has tightened security measures…

Unfortunately I don't have a credit card. Have now written support, let's see when it answers.
