Since I have been thinking about getting a switch for some time but am somewhat doubtful whether it will be technically profitable, I just wanted to ask this question.
I personally have enough titles now. The main problem is that I heard there are performance problems on the part of FPS with exclusive titles (e.g. Zelda in the Docking Mod). External titles like Wolfenstein etc. Should sometimes go really bad.
It goes without saying that the switch for Nintendo titles is certainly better made and as I said enough titles appeal to me.
What do you think, especially the users (calm subjective experiences). Is it worth spending on a fateful, weak console on the performance side? Do you notice anything?
After all, it is over 300 euro and they are supposed to be spent wisely!
For me 60fps already look jerky, 30 would be unplayable for me
Yes I have to agree with you!
If you want to play more in docked mode I recommend an Xbox One or Ps4 because it will run better there.
I have a ps4 and switch myself and would never play the switch in docked mode while I have a console that is a thousand times better.
If you play more in handheld mode I recommend switch Lite. You can't just play it on TV.
For me, that's a good handheld console.
Previously had nintendo ds, psp, psvita and n3ds xl. And it's a blatant leap
After all, it is over 300 euro and they are supposed to be spent wisely!
Here for less than 5 euro, I saw it by chance:
Do you now expect a handheld console with 144 fps?
Carry your PC on a plane or take it to bed comfortably.
oh not possible.
I just told him that 30 FPS is unplayable for me. Have I ever talked about a 144hz console? I do not think so
Do you expect 144 fps with a handheld?
No what gave you the idea?
You write 60 fps look jerky and 30 are even more unplayable.
Should he get a pc now because the switch ü. 60 fps never reached?
I think that is not playable for me and accordingly he has to decide for himself whether he can stand it
I have no major performance problems with the switch. Admittedly, my expectations are not particularly high either. I have also endured Minecraft with less than 1 FPS (not on the switch).
Of course some games run better, others worse, but overall I find the performance absolutely satisfactory. First party games usually run decently (decent means 30 FPS and HD on the Switch, but at least stable). For third party titles, you should rather use other platforms if you have the opportunity. However, third party games can also run well if the developers make an effort and optimize them properly. A good example of this would be the Assassin's Creed Rebel Collection: very stable 30 FPS and at least 900p in docked mode. In handheld mode it runs even more stable and supposedly looks even better (despite the lower resolution). Assassin's Creed III Remastered on the switch, however, did not run as optimally despite lower system requirements.
To address the stutters in Breath of the Wild again: For the release, the game went mostly well, but there were always a few stutters in fights and in the so-called forest of the Krogs it was horrible. It is now relatively stable with very rare stutters during fights and in the forest of the Krogs it may be a bit bumpy for a few seconds after arrival but it calms down quickly.
