SNES Classic Mini alternatives?

I would like to give away a compact game console that is as cheap as possible (but still good) to a friend.

My preference now would be a SNES Mini (other suggestions are welcome), but the official one from Nintendo is a bit expensive when used, so I wanted to ask if anyone had any experience with various third-party products.

I would never buy something like that because it is not official and things from China are really cheap and your friend would certainly not be happy about them either.

You could maybe also give him a Sega Mega Drive Mini as a present:
