I have 2 Joycons (The Reds from the Mario Odyssey Edition). However, the right joycon has stopped working for some time. If I want to use it and press the control stick down, then release it again, the stick will certainly align again in the middle, but my switch says that it is still pulling down slightly.

Sounds like Joy-Con Drift. When that happened to me, I just went to Saturn, explained it to them and they then sent the Joy-Con to Nintendo for free. Some time later it came back to me repaired. But that could be difficult because of Corona.
