So the nintendo 2ds and nintendo 2ds xl are the devices that can be folded right up to the top and can be angled or just folded up to play. Another question is what is worth more 2ds / xl or 3ds / xl. Last question can I play games of every generation on the different generations of nintendo so a nintendo ds mario kart on the nintendo 2ds etc?
Lg.T1m0nn and thank you very much
The games all run on the 2DS. I once read a review of the XL version; consequently, it shouldn't be of much use. So I bought my daughter a normal 2DS. (I didn't care about 3DS because I don't know what the pseudo-3D does to the developing brain.)
3ds is the most worthwhile. There you can play ds and 3ds games.
On a ds lite you can play ds and Gameboy games.
But didn't the 2ds fold up like that?
It is simply a rectangular case with two screens on top of each other. "It worked" is nothing.
Is the 3ds like the 2ds folded up or not?
Yes you can. But 2 ds is not worth it.
And Gameboy games
Gameboy Advance games only. The games for the Gameboy Color and the first Gameboy do not fit in the slot.
Okay thanks
The respective 2ds is the same as the 3ds, only without the 3D function.
The technology is the same and with the 3ds the 3D function is only optional.
So the new 2ds also plays all new 3ds games (and everything that is older).
The 2ds xl also plays all 3ds xl games (and anything older).
But isn't the 2ds directed upwards? https://www.google.com/...8&oe=UTF-8 like in the photos? And what generation of games can you play on the 2ds
But isn't the 2ds directed upwards?
Depends on the model.
At first I was also quite confused what kind of DS my wife had bought.
Can be folded but has no 3D function. So I just knew it was some 2DS and then the same question came up about "which games can I play with it".
and what generation of games can you play on the 2ds
Always from the same (or older) generation.
If you have a desired game or a desired DS, you have to google which generation it belongs to.
This generation + everything that is older (that is, made for older DS with weaker hardware) then runs on it.

3DS (XL): The original 3DS. Can play DS and 3DS games and has a 3D function.
2DS (XL): The impractical cleaver. Technically a 3DS without a 3D function, but with a special housing that can't be folded up. But the part is relatively cheap.
New 3DS (XL): A higher quality 3DS with more power and improved 3D effect. In addition to DS and 3DS, it can also play New 3DS games.
New 2DS XL: The last system in the 3DS family. Practically the same as a New 3DS, only without the 3D function. But cheaper.
I'm personally very satisfied with my New 2DS XL. The 3D effect is rather irrelevant to me and does not justify the price difference to the 3DS variant. If you don't value the few New 3DS games, a regular 3DS will do the same. I would only advise against the 2DS due to its shape.
Thank you thank you🙏 one last question is there a difference between playing nintendo ds and playing 3ds somehow the quality or something?
DS and 3DS are two different generations. The devices of the 3DS family replaced the old DS family. In the time when the 3DS was up to date, all new games were developed for the 3DS.
Thanks to the hearing performance of the 3DS compared to the DS, 3DS games can be more technically complex. That doesn't mean that every 3DS game is automatically or looks better than a DS game. But you can at least expect a higher standard from a 3DS game.
