I've had my Nintendo 3DS XL for about 3 years. At that time the Wi-Fi worked, but no longer. I renamed the Wi-Fi name and since then the Nintendo has no longer recognized my Wi-Fi.
What can I do now?
You have to go to the settings, delete the connection and add it with the changed name. It's that simple, hopefully I could help you. If you need step-by-step instructions, just ask.
Thanks, I'll try it out!
I checked to see if I have other connections, but all 3 are free.
So, somehow found my WLAN, but it says that the security settings of the access point are not supported by the Nintendo?
What security does your router have? You can see this in the settings of your router, but mostly it is WPA2, which is backwards compatible to WPA, which all DS models from the DSi should support. It's best to take a photo of the mistake.
Wait a minute, I briefly log into the WLAN.
Try to delete the WLAN setting and then set it up again is very easy.
It's WPA 2 (CCMP). It also says above that it is WPA encryption that has the greatest security. What would happen if I gave up encryption so that it was unprotected? Would that then connect to the Nintendo? (somehow can't send pictures).
Or maybe your WLAN only broadcasts 5 GHz. Then you have to change that to 2.4 GHz.
The 3DS should then be able to connect, but then also all devices from strangers, and I wouldn't recommend that to you. You can certainly also set the security to WPA2 (AES) or WPA2 (TKIP), this works with the 3DS and it is still safe.
I can only change WPA2 (CCMP) to WPA2+ WPA3 or WPA + WPA2.
I tried, it didn't work somehow… -.
