I bought my switch in September 2019.
Now the known error of the left Joy-Con drift occurs to me.
I still have the proof of purchase, and now the question is: where should I get it repaired?
I have already asked Nintendo that, in theory, the repair should be free of charge. But I'm afraid that there will be costs, or that they will break something on my switch and only repair it if I then pay.
Would it be better to just take the console to my local Saturn where I bought it and have it repaired there?
And does anyone know if I can hope that the Joy-Con will simply be replaced by a new one? (Which would probably make more sense for a part that costs 35 euro individually and is probably defective again a few months after the repair)
It depends on whether Nintendo has to send it somewhere (as Samsung used to send the devices to Korea). I think locally at Saturn you have more "control" because you can also put some pressure on site if it should take too long or something breaks in the repair
Saturn will only continue to send it to Nintendo and will not fix it itself. So you'd better go straight to Nintendo and save time.
I also think that by guaranteeing that the problem is guaranteed at every JoyCon appearance, it is clearly a mistake by Nintendo, I don't think Saturn and other markets would like to stand up for it, they are probably putting pressure on Nintendo for it.
Contact Nintendo directly https://www.giga.de/...-so-gehts/
Mine was exchanged for free four weeks ago…
Or hand in at Saturn, but they only send one…
I would have to send it to Obernburg. Since Nintendo is in Frankfurt itself, I believe that it will also be repaired there directly, otherwise you would say I should send it to Frankfurt and you send it on yourself, right?
Thanks a lot! How long did it take for you?
Monday away and Friday there…
